Buyers claims this item is FORGED. I called them directly to confirm and they told me "definitely forged!" Now that I have it in hand, though, the surface finish and parting lines are unmistakably those of a part CAST in a sand mold. This makes a BIG difference for breaking strength, toughness, and mode of failure of the part. It's still the strongest hinge leaf available, but I'm POed that Buyers hypes it as more than it is.
